I'm a low-calibre insulator collector. My collection cosists of entirely run-of-the-mill insulators, but I still think they're neat. What's really interesting about them is their permanence. There aren't many pieces of technology that can sit underground for a thousand years and still be as good as the day they were buried.
There's a large number of Dominion-42's (CD-155) in my collection, there were still hundreds of telephone poles full of them along Highway 6 in the West Kootenays when I first moved there in 2000, so they were quite common at the time. Most of these insulators were found in the West Kootenays, but some came from the East Kootenays and Central Okanagan. Each image is clickable for a stupidly-high-resolution version of the same.
